Antique and rare is the heavy (2.15 lbs / 965 grams / 34.1 ozs) 4 footed, oval shaped, hinged top, white opaline glass, gold gilt brass trim/hardware, with 2 concealed fragrance/parfum clear crystal glass bottles/stopper caddy set, vanity ormulu casket box set of French origin, circa 1850s presented in this listing. Fitted brass gilt interior of the box contains two(2) clear crystal/glass perfume bottles - one with its original stopper - the 2nd stopper is missing. The gold gilt brass finish to the interior and the hinged lids/tops for the bottles remain in remarkably bright condition especially giving their approximate 150+ years of age.

The exceptional condition of the fitted interior and bottle/stopper set is a rarity unto itself. This is a capital collectible with few equals. For the collector of things french and/or vanity collectibles - this is it. The box has the following dimensions : L ength 5-3/4" (ft to ft) ; W idth 4-3/8" (ft to ft) ; H eight 4-5/8 (ft to box top). From a top view the hinged oval white opaline glass top measures 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" (LxW).

The hinged brass interior bottle tops/lids are not attached to the bottles but were likely glued together when originally made and can easily be re-glued if desired. The bottom edge of one of these interior tops is misshapened which can be corrected by a skilled artisan or left as is. The interior crystal glass fragrance/parfum bottles are in very good condition with a few minor chips/fleabites to them. Intricate detailed diamond patterns embellish the brass trim that separate the bottom from its' hinged top.
