Antique French Opaline Glass Absinthe Service, Tray, c. All items and photos are the express property of Antiques & Uncommon Treasure. No reproduction without prior written consent. We'll be sending out sale notices and special deals to our'Favorites' customers.
The rare late 1800s French absinthe service, complete but for a lid for the sugar bowl, and in lovely old Napoleon III era opaline glass, hand enameled in garlands of flowers. Very good to excellent for age and type, no chips, no cracks. The flaw being the lid to the sugar bowl is missing from the set.Stopper is original and intact on both the water decanter and the absinthe decanter (small one). Some will say this is a double or'duet' bonne nuit, but it is meant for service of absinthe. Some rubs to the applied gold and floral enamel work, here or there, but not much.
