Antique Stourbridge Opaline Uranium Glass Applique Blue Handle Ruffled Jug Bowl. This beautiful opaline jug & bowl set is a fabulous example of Victorian Uranium Glass. Created around 1890 in Stourbridge England most probably by Stevens and Williams but other makers from the area created very similar designs so it's difficult to say for sure, it's a fabulous set. With its gorgeous opaline with bright Azure Blue ruffled rim and dramatic ribbed applique handle along with both pieces fantastic scarred snapped pontils and of course impressively bright Uranium Green glow under UV light, it is a delightful set and will make a wonderful addition to any collection or display!
Jug: 9.5cm tall, 10cm in length and 8cm wide. Rim to rim is 7cm and the useable opening is 4.5cm in diameter. Bowl: 6cm tall, 13.5cm in diameter/wide at widest point. Base is 6.5cm wide. Opening is 10cm in diameter and it is 5.5cm deep.Condition is'Used' - Good antique condition with only minor wear commensurate with age such as some small marks to inside of bowl and edges of ruffles.
