A fine Pierre D'Avesn Art Deco Bowl, the bowl is designed both for use and decoration. The bowl has a fine decorative border in the Art Deco style, in acid etched frosted glass, of small song birds, flowers and vines molded in high relief.
The sides of the bowl are in clear glass the base is lightly frosted. It is marked P D' Avesn. Made in France "156" in small raised letters, see pictures. This bowl was made around 1930.During his time at Lalique he designed two of their iconic pieces The Serpent Vase and The Tourbillions Vase. The bowl is 31 cm diameter and about 7.5cm tall, weight 2050 grams. It is in good condition no chips or cracks on the outside border but if you look closely it does have a couple of tiny nibbles on the inside border and a tiny chip, see photos, hence its price.
