FINE OVERLAID OPALINE GLASS VASE. By MICHAEL POWOLNY LOETZ - circa 1915.
This is a lovely, rare piece of overlaid white opaline glass designed by Michael Powolny for the Loetz factory which dates, I would guess, to the first quarter of the 20th. Century (I think the 1915 attribution is on balance correct - see below). In a depressed wide globular form with a wide everted rim, it's depicted with the forementioned opaline body with black lined vertical overlay. It measures 4" (10cm) H x 4 1/2" (11.5cm) Dia. Approx; and is in excellent condition with no defect at all to report, apart from light age wear to the base - see photographs and details.
