John Walsh Walsh Opalescent Vaseline Uranium Glass &Copper Waterlily Centrepiece

  

Spectacular early 20th Century John Walsh Walsh centrepiece flower holder, constructed from Vaseline glass and copper metal in the form of waterlilies. Unfortunately incomplete, missing a vaseline glass bud and a horn resembling an opening flower, but still an interesting piece nonetheless. We haven't been able to find the registered design number for this exact piece but it's similar to designs registered between 1902 and 1904: RD. It measures 34cm wide, 20cm deep and 13cm tall. The bowl is 17cm wide.

The total weight is 515g. Overall the condition is very good. The metalwork is intact and has an attractive patina. The bowl has a little wear, a few marks and possibly a light water stain but hard to tell due to the opalescence.

Uranium glass is never sent with GSP due to the risk of it being destroyed! All items are handled and packed with care. All products are antique or vintage and may show signs of use commensurate with age.
