A late 19th century John Walsh Walsh vaseline glass vase with the opaline brocade pattern. The vase is of sack shape with flattened sides and pressed in dimples. The rim is hand pincered into form and the pontil is rough snapped. The John Walsh Walsh factory was in Birmingham, England and was noted for innovative products along with fine quality. These vaseline brocade examples are increasingly scarce and now very difficult to find.
The glass glows strongly under UV light. Very good order, minor wear and wear to the base. Tiny captured air bubbles throughout the rim area (from production).
