An original Art Deco period opalescent glass bowl by Rene Lalique. It is in the Poissons design with swirled fish around the sides and the centre of bubble forms. It dates to the 1920's and is one of the original Lalique designs of the Art Deco period.

The opalescent glass appears blue on a dark ground but under strong back light you get orange and fiery tones. It is marked with a moulded R Lalique in arc form to the inside bowl and also etched France with the code number underneath. Good strong opalescence to this example. Some minor wear to the interior. A few streak lines to the inside of the base from trapped air bubbles during production. One tiny nick to the inner rim which is most likely caused by the glass worker when finishing the rim.

Three short vertical scratches near the tail of one fish. Width : 20.8 cms 8 1/4 inch. Height : 7.7 cms 3 inch. Weight: 1070 grams (before packing). If for any reason you are unhappy with your item please let us know as soon as possible, and we will do our best to put things right.
