Superb Rare Art Deco Czech Samuel Reich Opalescent Glass Mussel Shell Fruit Bowl

  

Here we have an absolutely gorgeous and incredibly rare Art Deco Opalescent glass fruit bowl. This was made by top glassmaker Samuel Reich and it featured in his 1934 catalogue which I have attached a picture of showing its model number, B2630! Samuel Reich & Co were founded in 1813 and established itself as one of the leading factories in Europe. This really is a spectacular, top quality piece, the photos don't do it justice whatsoever. I love its shape, the rim and the rippled relief moulded mussel shell decoration.

It has a blue tinge in certain lights and semi-opaque creamy colour which isn't shown off in the photographs. Often misinterpreted as French, "Lalique", "Sabino" and the likes; however, this is a wonderful piece of Czech Art Deco glass - well up there with the best of them. It measures approximately 10.25 inches by 4.25 inches weighing just over 1.25kgs. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
