This listing is for a nice 19th Century French opaline glass vase with rosy-pink glass overlaid on white opaline glass. The vase has a pink tulip shaped top with a slender neck cut back to the white opaline glass, a round pink opaline knob in the center with white opaline glass windows below. The rounded lower body is white opaline glass cut in three dimensional diamonds with the pink outer layer exposed in the center of each diamond. The vase has a short pedestal base also in pink opaline glass. Each cut area that exposes the white base opaline layer is embellished with gilding. Measures 7" high with a 3" diameter base. This nice opaline glass vase is in excellent Estate condition with the only noted issue being a small factory flaw on the bottom edge. There is a slightly flattened spot on the rounded bottom edge that appears to be from production as the gilding is original and covers this area. There is minor wear as expected to the gilding in a few areas from normal wear. Have been in the Antiques business for over 30 years and try to describe our items as accurately as possible.
