Victorian period miniature portrait on Opaline glass
Victorian period miniature portrait of a young lady in Grecian / Roman style dress. Unusually, the medium is oil paint on white Opaline glass. The style leads us to believe the item is European, (Bohemia/ Germany / France) rather than English. Please note: The glass is pure white and does not have the warm redness to it. The glass is gloss on the front and slightly Matt on the back.
The frame is thin brass plate and is 3 1/8" x 2 3/4".
